History
Arcadio was conceived in Los Gatos, gestated in San Luis Obispo, and born in San Francisco. Drummer Ross and singer Chris meet in grade school and began a hot music relationship there. They met guitarist Morgan in college and began a soul cover band called Supabad years before the movie of a similar name.

In the fall of 2006, the three found themselves in San Francisco and began playing with bassist Scott whom Morgan had known for over ten years prior. Arcadio started playing around California with a unique yet unrecognized genre of "noirish-circus-gypsy-folk." You can label the music under an Americana umbrella if you'd like.

At that point, the gentlemen decided they needed something to hand out to friends, families, venues, and fans. Arcadio recorded their debut EP at John Vanderslice's Tiny Telephone Studios under the caring hands of Aaron Prellwitz whilst picking up viola player Denise.

The debut EP Jodie was self produced and released in the spring of 2007. The band is currently dedicated to playing live shows and writing new material.

Booking, merchandise and management is currently handled by the band. E-mail them at band@soundsofarcadio.com.

Praise

"In the middle of a post I was writing for Swedesplease about the find of the century (a full album download of Billie The Vision and Dancers's new cd) I stumbled upon my own find of the century. It's the new ep from San Francisco based carnival side show folk-rock band Arcadio.

The title track, 'Jodie', with it's gypsy violin intro and raspy pirate vocals is an instant classic in the yet unrecognized genre of 'noirish-circus-gypsy-folk.'"
